Randolphville combines Election Day lesson with fun of Halloween

Randolphville Elementary School combined the civic engagement of Election Day with the fun of Halloween into one celebration!
Students got to experience the election process firsthand when they voted on what costumes Principal Stacy Mingo and Assistant Principal Kyle Gurkovich would wear for Halloween. Students stepped into a voting booth during library time to cast their ballots, and after the votes were counted, the winning costumes were Mario and Luigi.
But the fun didn’t stop there. Our creative kindergarten students teamed up with physical education teacher Amada Miller to create a Mario Kart track for “Mario” and “Luigi” to race on, bringing the students’ winning vote to life.
This exciting experience showed students that every vote counts, and helped them create lasting school memories. Thanks to all the staff members who helped set up the election and count the votes.
