3rd grade artist congratulation by staff members
Congratulations to Randolphville Elementary School 3rd grader Aurelia Eck for winning the elementary division of the NJASBO Student Art Contest this year!
The contest is sponsored by the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials, whose members voted for the winner at their annual conference. Thank you to Supervisor of Visual & Performing Arts Rebekah Sterlacci for submitting Aurelia’s beautiful artwork for consideration.
District Business Administrator David Oliveira visited Aurelia at Randolphville on the last day of school to present her with a $100 gift card as a prize for winning. Aurelia was congratulated by Ms. Sterlacci, Mr. Oliveira, Randolphville Art Teacher Jasmine McGinnis, and Randolphville Acting Principal Megan Messina.
Aurelia’s piece was the result of Randolphville 3rd graders studying the dessert still life paintings of artist Wayne Thiebaud. Focusing on his use of color, contrast, shadows, and repetition, 3rd graders created their own cupcake flavors. Aurelia came up with three unique toppings and decorations for her desserts.
