A Note from Mrs. Elil

We will start off March by celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2nd, and by kicking off our activities for Read Across America Week. A big thank you to all the parents who took time out of your busy schedules to come read to us in Room 33! Please refer to the flyers that went home about Read Across America Week where we had more details.

We will be talking about Spring, St.  Patrick’s Day, Rainbows, the changing weather and season during the month of March.

We are reading ‘Bigger Books’ by using our ‘Bigger Reading Muscles’ and we are now writing ‘How to Books’ to teach others what we know -writing steps by step directions, numbering the steps and writing detailed sentences as directions and pictures to go with the different steps. In Math we will wrap up Chapter 8 -Represent, Count and Write 20 and Beyond where we will learn to count by ones and tens to numbers 50 and 100 and move on to Chapter 9- Identify and Describe Two Dimensional Shapes!
